As a leader in sustainability practices and winner of many awards, Cleankill Pest Control Managing Director Paul Bates was asked to give a talk at PestEx – the national conference for the pest control industry.

Here he offers some thoughts from the talk on this important topic. 

Is sustainability just today’s ‘in phrase’ and the government’s flavour of the day? For me personally, sustainability is about what you believe is right and doing your research as best as you can.

They say an active mind makes a happy person and, after last week, I think I can concur. It was a week that certainly required a lot of focus because, in addition to running an expanding pest control company, we also had two very important exhibitions and two award ceremonies. It’s at time like this that you realise how important having a good team around you is!

Firstly, the exhibitions – one as an attendee and one as an exhibitor and sponsor.

This is one of those months when there is so much to write about that it is hard to know where to begin.

I have been looking through the promotional plans for May and it is definitely going to be a busy month with three business expos in two days. On 10^th May we will again be at Kent Vision Live, taking place at The Kent Event Centre. With over 3,000 participants coming together at the Detling Showground, near Maidstone, this exposition describes itself as the “South East’s premier B2B exhibition and the largest event of its kind in the UK.”
